Our fellow American neighbors who are immigrants, are an integral part of the country's diverse and thriving communities. They make extensive contributions that benefit us all. In The United States of America, Latins in the Marine Corps account for the largest minority group of that military institution. 


Ramona M. Valdez (June 26, 1984 – June 23, 2005) was a Dominican-born United States Marine who was killed in the Iraq War. She was posthumously honored by the U.S. Marine Corps when the II MEF Communications Training Center was dedicated as the Valdez Training Facility.
